I joined National Instruments in January 2001 as a technical writer. As a technical writer at National Instruments, I have produced documentation for DAQ hardware, Vision hardware, and Vision software. In 2003, I became a Group Manager, and I now manage nine technical writers throughout various product groups. I have a B.A. and an M.A. in English from Texas Tech University. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, blogging, cooking, spending time with friends, and hanging out at the lake.

Here are some of the job tasks I do in a typical week:

• Monday: Write a documentation plan and update a document maintenance plan
• Tuesday: Complete lead reviews
• Wednesday: Mentor a new technical communicator and discuss the NI Style Guide
• Thursday: Attend a career fair
• Friday: Work on goal setting with a new technical writer
